CHAPTER 1
“So you are
saying that we have to steal THE GOLDEN CUP OF LEGACY!” exclaimed Ayush.
“Yes. So?”
Answered Kevin.
“What so?
You know that this is the most valuable award given to our school, right?”
asked Ayush in a stern voice.
“Yes. That’s
why this will be the biggest con, we have done till now. What do you think?”
asked Kevin with excitement in his voice.
“What do I
think? I think you are insane. And why would we be doing it?” asked Ayush still
wondering what happened to Kevin.
“Well it’s
not just my eyes on it but there is someone I need to stop.” answered Kevin.
“Let me
guess. Its Ashwin right?” enquired Ayush.
“Yes.”
Answered Kevin in a cold tone.
“I thought
you had made peace with.” Said Ayush.
“Yes I did.”
Said Kevin.
“So why are
we doing it?” asked Ayush.
“Well he is
planning to steal it. And I am planning to teach him a final lesson before
leaving school. I’ll be stealing it from him from under his hand and making him
the guilty. He’ll have no idea where it went but he’ll know who took it from
him.” Answered Kevin.
“Well, what can I say? Let do it.” asked Ayush
looking helpless.
“Nothing, I
guess.” Answered Kevin as he grinned at him.
Kevin and
Ayush study in Suraj international school. They have been best friends since
kindergarten. Kevin was a sharp kid. Good looking, tall and strong working
brain.
He was in 12th class and this was his last year. He had been
made head boy in his last year. Ayush was as well the same as Kevin sharp, good
looking, and with a strong working brain. They both shared a common interest
which made them different from the rest of the kids. They had a keen interest in
making people do what they wanted without them knowing, making copies of things
which looked like the original piece, and taking challenges for the sake of
growing their skills. They had mastered 4 languages, 5 different dances, all
forms of art, melody of music.
Kevin was an
orphan. His parents were killed when he was 10. In a robbery gone wrong. Since
then he was living with his aunt. His parents had left him a fit amount in an
account named for him and their insurance had increased that amount. Every morning his would wake to the nightmare of
that bloody night.
“We are
here.” Said Ayush stopping the car in front of their school.
They used to
come to school in Ayush’s car. His parents had gifted it to him for scoring the
highest mark the school had ever seen in 11th class history.
They got
down and went into their school. They were greeted by Ashwin at the gate.
“Good
morning” said Ashwin grinning at Kevin.
“He has done
something.” said Kevin “Be ready.”
“Yes, thanks
for the heads up” replied Ayush as both walked in through the reception.
Sunny signaled
Ayush as he entered the class. Ayush kept his bag on his seat as went to Sunny.
They shook hands and Sunny passed him a note. While shaking Ayush’s hand. Ayush
walked back to Kevin. They sat on the desk facing each other.
“I think
what has happened” said Ayush passing Kevin the note.
SCHOOL PRESIDENT SELECTED. LAST VOTER. ANSHAN
MA’AM.
“Who has
been selected?” asked Kevin as he got up from the bench stood next to Ayush.
“Don’t know
yet.” Answered Ayush.
“Let me
know.” Said Kevin as he left.
He had
another companion besides Ayush. It was a girl. They had been companions before
he was acquainted Ayush. Her name was Anna.
“Good
morning.” Said Kevin.
“Good
morning.” Replied Anna “I heard.”
“Well I
would also like to hear. It seems I am missing the news.” Kevin said adjusting
himself on the adjoining desk.
“So you seem
to have impressed the teachers council” said Anna fixing her books.
“Should
assume that it is good news?” asked Kevin.
“Well don’t
be so happy this early. Ashwin isn’t behind you. You both are on the same level.
And I don’t know who has been selected.” Replied Anna. “I know this is
important to you. So, just have faith. You’ll win.”
“I hope so.”
Said Kevin. “But this not all I came to talk about.”
“Meet me at
5 at my place.” Kevin whispered in her ear.
Anna nodded.
Kevin smiled and left. Ayush met him just he exited the class.
“Principal
wants to meet you.” Said Ayush. Kevin kept moving but now towards the Principal’s office.
“Ma’am you
called me?” said Kevin opening the Principal’s door.
“Yes, I did.
Please sit down” answered the Principal pointing towards the chair in front of
her. “So how are you?”
“Fine, thank
you” Kevin answered sitting down in the chair.
“How are
your studies going?” the Principal asked.
“It’s going
really well.” Kevin answered.
